If MySpace is a PC, then Facebook is a Mac.

This statement, which I found on the TIMES had visions of the personas of various social networks in my head.

Facebook guy is the epitome of geek chic. He wears a t-shirt, jeans and All Stars to work. He doesn’t need to look professional because he’s damn good at what he does and he knows it. Facebook guy’s best friend is Kevin (the Mac guy). Neither tries to be cool, they just are and they set a standard for others to reach. Facebook guy works hard and plays hard, he does extreme sports on the weekends.

MySpace guy, on the other hand, used to be cool (back in his day) but now he needs to date Paris Hilton to get a bit of attention. He’s easy enough to get along with, its just that you suspect he’s a little behind the 8-ball. He thinks he’s cool and casual because he doesn’t wear a tie with his suit and shirt. He works hard, but he’s ready to settle down now so doesn’t play as hard as he did when he was a spring chicken.

Are there any social networks that you imagine have a persona? I think Plurk guy runs about like a headless chicken and Twitter guy suffers from narcolepsy.
